Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Data Ingredient Specialist to support our Operations, Purchasing, and Nutrition teams in building a comprehensive ingredient documentation database. This temporary project will involve reviewing and cataloging approximately 800 ingredients to support accurate and efficient preparation of nutritional and allergen statements for company meals., * Physically review ingredient packaging, labels, and containers onsite.

  • Capture and document required product information for each ingredient, including:

o Product name and front-of-package identification

o Ingredient label information

o Nutrition Facts label information

o Allergen statements

o Major allergens listed

o “May contain,” “processed in a facility,” or similar allergen disclosure statements

  • Upload and organize collected information into a structured electronic ingredient

database.

  • Maintain physical documentation files to support the electronic database.
  • Ensure ingredient records are accurate, complete, and organized to support nutrition and allergen statement development.
  • Identify missing, unclear, or incomplete product information and escalate items for review.
  • Work closely with the COO and Purchasing Manager to submit information for review and assist with data validation.
  • Maintain an organized workflow while managing a high volume of ingredient records.
  • Complete assigned documentation within the project timeline.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Purchasing?, This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy, as the information collected will help maintain reliable ingredient records and support food labeling documentation., * Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, databases, and data entry systems.
  • Ability to stay organized while managing a high volume of items.
  • Reliable, efficient, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to physically handle and review ingredient packaging and containers.
  • Prior experience in food service, quality assurance, nutrition, purchasing, inventory, or data entry is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of food labels, allergen statements, or Nutrition Facts labels is preferred but not required.

Benefits & conditions

  • This is a temporary, project-based role expected to last approximately 4-5 weeks.
  • The position requires both physical product review and administrative documentation work.
  • Fresh produce is excluded from allergen documentation requirements.
  • This role does not approve nutrition or allergen statements but supports the collection and organization of required ingredient information for internal review

Pay: $26.00 per hour
