Job description

The position offers a salary of $68,000 annually, depending on experience. You will work in Gaffney, SC, with a choice of shift between 8am-5pm or 7am-4pm, Monday through Friday.

Core Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by strictly adhering to 6S standards and all corporate policies.
  • Monitor quality concerns to help maintain high standards and exercise the authority to address non-conforming parts by escalating issues to the process engineer.
  • Follow all company rules and 6S protocols to ensure consistent operational compliance.
  • Protect the integrity of our output by identifying non-conforming items and escalating them to the appropriate authority.
  • Oversee the document control system, managing the activation, review, and approval of all internal and external documentation.
  • Coordinate the internal APQP process to ensure that all engineering changes and control documents are properly integrated.
  • Assist in the creation and documentation of control plans, PFMEAs, and process flows.
  • Collaborate with quality engineers to review and verify that all customer deliverables are successfully achieved.
  • Utilize audit findings from internal and external sources to drive continuous quality improvements.
  • Partner with Engineering and Production teams to develop and monitor systems for effective engineering change control.
  • Execute system and layered audits while ensuring all third-party audits are reported and completed per established guidelines.
  • Perform MSAs on relevant devices to provide recommendations for process improvements and update systems accordingly.
  • Create educational materials regarding quality systems and lead training sessions for staff.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure that customer property is managed according to strict guidelines.
  • Work with various teams to define and implement standardized tooling control systems.
  • Verify that all quality management systems fully satisfy customer-specific requirements.
  • Establish systems to track performance metrics and provide reports to leadership.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Technical Proficiency?, We are seeking a Quality Systems Engineer to oversee the development, maintenance, and enhancement of our organizational quality frameworks. This role ensures that all internal and external procedures remain fully compliant with industry standards. Candidates must possess a strong working knowledge of, or certification in, ISO/IATF auditing., * Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or a related field.

  • Four to five years of experience in automotive quality, specifically with ISO/IATF lead auditor expertise.
  • CQA certification is considered a plus.
  • Strong command of English, basic mathematical proficiency, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Logical problem-solving abilities, a collaborative mindset, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks and audits.
  • Technical proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, PPAP/FMEA/control plans, and statistical tools like Minitab, SPC, DOE, and 8D/5WHY/5P.
  • Flexibility to adjust your work schedule as business needs dictate.
  • A self-starting attitude with the ability to perform duties with minimal oversight.
  • Physical capacity to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to remain active through standing, sitting, walking, climbing, or squatting for extended durations.
  • Potential exposure to high voltage environments and heavy machinery.
