Data Capture Technician and Team Lead

We are seeking an autonomous, highly organized Data Capture Technician & Team Lead based in the Austin, Texas area to oversee and execute reality capture projects supporting AI-driven construction solutions.

This is a unique player-coach role, combining hands-on fieldwork with operational leadership. You will manage your own construction site data capture projects while coordinating a team of Video Data Capture Technicians to ensure complete project coverage across the region., * Data Capture & Field Operations

• Capture high-quality construction site data on assigned projects using specialized equipment and mobile applications.
• Conduct routine site visits and ensure accurate, complete, and timely data collection.
• Maintain high standards of quality across all captured data.

Team Coordination & Leadership

• Coordinate schedules and deployments for a team of Video Data Capture Technicians.
• Monitor project coverage and ensure all assigned sites are serviced efficiently.
• Provide guidance and support to field technicians to maintain operational excellence.

Backup Coverage & Problem Solving

• Step in and perform field data capture when technicians are unavailable.
• Travel to active construction sites as needed to ensure project continuity.
• Anticipate staffing, scheduling, and logistical challenges before they impact project delivery.

Risk Management & Safety

• Identify potential operational, logistical, and safety risks.
• Ensure compliance with all site-specific safety requirements and protocols.
• Promote a culture of safety and accountability across the field team.

Communication & Reporting

• Serve as the primary communication link between field technicians, site managers, clients, and internal project stakeholders.
• Provide regular project updates, status reports, and risk assessments.

Do you have experience in Outdoor work?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree in land surveying?, The ideal candidate has experience working on construction sites and possesses strong leadership, planning, and communication skills. You thrive in fast-paced environments, take ownership of outcomes, and are comfortable working both independently and as part of a broader project team., * Based in or near Austin, Texas with the ability to travel regularly to local and regional construction sites.

• Available Monday through Friday for 35+ hours per week.
• Proven experience coordinating teams, leading field operations, or managing projects.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Comfortable using mobile applications, scheduling tools, and technical field equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Physically capable of walking long distances, navigating uneven terrain, climbing stairs, and standing for extended periods on active construction sites.

Preferred

• Experience working on construction sites.
• Background in Construction Management, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
• Previous experience in site operations, field services, surveying, reality capture, or construction technology.
• Experience managing field teams or coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
