Job description

This position is primarily responsible for training providers and staff in use of the electronic health records (EHR) software. Oversight, coordination, and tasks related to training, testing, documentation, improvement and implementation of EHR applications. This position functions to assure successful use and integrity of the EHR software., * Work under the guidance of the Director of Information Systems and Lead Clinical Applications Analyst to support Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications functions

  • Acquire and maintain complete knowledge of functional areas of supported EHR applications
  • Primarily responsible for on-boarding of new staff and providers in EHR by:
  • Coordinating and leading training sessions with end users
  • Ensuring training is scheduled and completed for new users
  • Function as initial EHR support for all staff:
  • Receive and track staff support calls/tickets
  • Test and troubleshoot problems within EHR applications
  • Secondary point of contact with EHR application vendors for support needs. Assist with testing and troubleshooting new modules, upgrades, and patches in EHR applications
  • Assist Lead Clinical Applications Analyst to ensure Sun Life staff perform correct processes to achieve compliance with meaningful use guidelines
  • Maintain training materials to facilitate adaptation and user understanding of functionality
  • Optimization of current staff and providers in EHR by interacting with all departments and remote sites quarterly to ensure best practices utilizing EHR
  • Assist Lead Clinical Applications Analyst and PCMH team in gathering data for PCMH submissions
  • Assist with process improvement through analysis, revision and training on workflows
  • Coordinate and manage day-to-day interface reconciliation duties which may be delegated or completed directly by Health Information Technology Coordinator
  • Manage time and resources independently
  • Provide scheduled status reporting to supervisor

Requirements

Do you have experience in Medical office experience?, * Two year college degree and a minimum two years of experience in a clinic based position OR any combination of acceptable training and experience to perform required functions

  • Experience using an electronic health records system preferred
  • Clinical back office experience, MA/LPN/RN preferred
