Job description
This IT Programmer III position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Office of Information Technology. This position provides information technology support for the Records and Workflow Management (RWM) systems., * Develop/Maintain Application Software: Develop requirements and specifications, validate with users and stakeholders, and design or implement data structures and data manipulation processes. Use prescribed methods and automated tools to develop, debug or document program code for business applications.
- Assist and Advise Customers: Receive and document user requests for information, requests for assistance, or suggestions for system improvements. Assist users in resolving problems and perform the necessary action at the time of contact, whenever possible; otherwise, coordinate action by appropriate IT support personnel to resolve problems. Advise business personnel on current or potential information system capabilities which could solve business problems or enhance business operations.
- Install Systems: Develop or monitor execution of plans for system implementation, acceptance testing, or system conversion. Install and configure system and application software. Convert or transfer data from existing locations and formats to replacement locations and formats. Design, perform or document system, regression and acceptance tests and post-implementation reviews for new or modified hardware, software and user procedures.
- Manage Data: Specify policies, standards or procedures for safeguarding data integrity. Develop or maintain data structures or databases consistent with the organization’s information architecture, data security requirements, and data storage and performance requirements of business applications. Test the effectiveness of procedures and data cross-references to authenticate data entry users or to validate the formats and values of data being entered or captured.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Computer science?, * Successful completion of 24 hours in computer science coursework or certification and three years’ experience coding, testing, and debugging application programs or four years’ experience coding, testing, and debugging application programs.
- Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered., * 2 years of experience in Content Management System.
- Certification in OnBase.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- Knowledge of database management, direct access techniques, and remote processing.
- Knowledge of one or more computer programming languages.
- Knowledge of computer systems analysis, design, user and system documentation, user and system testing, and debugging.
- Exposure to Visual Studio.
- Programming in VB.NET, C# or ASP.NET.
