Job description

Engagement Type - 100 hour Contract (4 weeks with approximately 25 hours per week), * Architect end-to-end Salesforce Education Cloud solutions tailored to the unique needs of higher education institutions, including admissions, student success, alumni relations, and advancement use cases.

  • Lead discovery and requirements-gathering sessions with university stakeholders across academic, IT, and administrative departments. Design scalable data models, integration patterns, and security frameworks aligned with FERPA and institutional data governance policies.
  • Provide architectural review and guidance on existing Salesforce org configurations, recommending improvements for performance, maintainability, and adoption. Collaborate with implementation teams to define technical standards, development best practices, and deployment strategies.
  • Produce clear architecture diagrams, decision records, and documentation accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support change management efforts by advising on training approaches and user adoption strategies relevant to university environments.
  • Coordinate asynchronously with global, cross-functional teams distributed across multiple time zones.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Workday?, We are seeking a seasoned Salesforce Architect with Education Cloud expertise for a focused 100-hour contract engagement. The successful candidate will guide the design, architecture, and implementation strategy of Salesforce solutions within a higher education environment, working, Mandatory Qualification/Certification - Salesforce Education Cloud Certification or equivalent, * Salesforce Certified Education Cloud Consultant or equivalent Education Cloud specialization credential - Mandatory

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on Salesforce architecture or senior consulting experience, with a portfolio demonstrating higher education implementations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading Salesforce projects at both private universities and public universities, with understanding of the distinct governance, budget, and compliance dynamics of each.
  • Proficiency across core Salesforce products including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and the Education Data Architecture (EDA / Data Cloud for Education).
  • Strong knowledge of integration approaches (REST/SOAP APIs, MuleSoft, or similar) for connecting Salesforce to Student Information Systems (SIS) such as Banner, PeopleSoft, or Workday Student.
  • Ability to communicate technical architecture concepts clearly to non-technical university leadership and faculty.
  • Self-directed work ethic with proven experience delivering in fully remote, contract-based engagements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional Salesforce certifications such as Application Architect, System Architect, or Certified Technical Architect (CTA).
  • Experience with Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) in a university advancement or fundraising context.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design considerations for student-facing portals.
  • Exposure to agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) within higher education IT programs.
  • Background working with procurement and vendor management processes typical of public university systems
