Job description

Our Fortune 500 Media Client is seeking a Senior Python Software Developer to help build and enhance a next-generation, cloud-based media distribution platform on AWS. This team develops scalable, high-performance systems that distribute digital media assets globally using serverless, event-driven, and cloud-native technologies.

  • Designs, develops, and maintains scalable cloud-native applications using Python and AWS.
  • Builds and supports serverless solutions utilizing AWS Lambda, ECS, Fargate, Step Functions, SQS, S3, IAM, and related services.
  • Develops event-driven architectures and distributed systems supporting global content distribution.
  • Designs and optimizes integrations with DynamoDB and other NoSQL databases.
  • Participates in solution design, architecture, implementation, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Develops automated tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Utilizes AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, including Product, Architecture, and DevOps.
  • Contributes to technical documentation, code reviews, sprint planning, and team knowledge sharing.

NOTE: Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents (Green Card holders) to be considered for this position.

Work Set Up:5 Days per Week in the Office in New York, NY 10036.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software engineering?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of professional Python development experience.
  • 3+ years of AWS experience building cloud-native applications.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3, SQS, IAM, Step Functions, and DynamoDB.
  • Experience with serverless, event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
  • Experience with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
  • Strong knowledge of Git, unit testing, TDD, and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and strong communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Kubernetes experience.
  • C# development experience.
  • PostgreSQL or SQL Server experience.
  • AWS certifications.
  • Experience with Bedrock, Vertex AI, Azure AI, LangChain, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
  • Media, video, or content distribution platform experience.
  • Familiarity with tools such as FFmpeg, FFProbe, MediaInfo, AWS Elemental MediaConvert, Dolby Hybrik, BroadStream MediaMate, TeleStream Cloud, Ooona Convert, Nielsen Watermarking, Rhozet Carbon, or SelenioFlex.
