Job description

The Systems Administrator (End User Experience) is responsible for enhancing and maintaining the overall user experience within the IT infrastructure at American Aluminum Accessories (a Gamber-Johnson Company). This role focuses on ensuring that the company’s end users are at the center of all IT-related functions by planning, directing, and coordinating the design, installation, and configuration of client-facing devices. The Systems Administrator will also manage tools directly impacting the client side, including helpdesk platforms, imaging solutions, and mobile device management systems. This position requires proactive optimization of client-side systems and engagement with internal teams to support the company’s growth and IT strategy., User Hardware and Software Management

  • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end-user workstation hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Resolve user hardware and software issues efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to the end user’s experience.

Business Requirements and System Goals Alignment

  • Collaborate with decision-makers, system owners, and end users to define business requirements and identify solutions to business systems issues.
  • Support client-side systems to align with organizational goals, focusing on reliability and ease of use.

System Configuration and Optimization

  • Manage and enhance client-side system administration, ensuring optimal performance and user satisfaction.
  • Implement security and mobile device management practices to safeguard client-side assets.

Helpdesk and User Support

  • Receive and respond promptly to incoming support requests, emails, or tickets related to client-side issues.
  • Provide escalation support for IT technicians, facilitating swift resolution of complex user-related issues.

Documentation and Policy Development

  • Contribute to the creation of work instructions, documentation, and policies for the IT department, focusing on clarity and accessibility for end users.
  • Assist in developing both short and long-term technology investment plans to support the company’s growth and operational needs.

Vendor and External Liaison

  • Collaborate with external vendors or service providers as necessary to resolve complex issues affecting client-side systems.
  • Negotiate support terms and ensure vendor accountability on service standards.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Vendor relationship building?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, Education: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in ComputerScience, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Experience: Familiarity with Microsoft or Linux operating systems; certifications in network security, systems, or related fields are highly encouraged.

Skills:

  • Strong multitasking abilities and time management skills.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and maintaining user hardware and software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, user-focused approach, and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills and capability to respond to end-user issues swiftly.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams to meet the company’s IT goals.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard tools for mobile device management, helpdesk support, and imaging platforms.
