Job description

We are seeking a Zscaler Implementation Engineer to build, configure, and deploy Zscaler security solutions-including Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA)-within enterprise environments. The successful candidate will lead technical implementation, integration, and support activities, ensuring secure connectivity and optimal performance of network security solutions.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) solutions within customer and organizational networks.

  • Build and update Zscaler environments to support secure internet and private access, and perform system upgrades and enhancements as required.

  • Integrate Zscaler products with identity providers (SAML, SCIM, Active Directory), existing network infrastructure, cloud services, and third-party applications.

  • Develop and implement security policies, including DLP, CASB, bandwidth management, advanced threat protection, and access controls.

  • Troubleshoot complex network, authentication, and connectivity problems, including HTTP/HTTPS, SSL inspection, DNS, VPN, and firewall-related issues.

  • Use network diagnostic and packet analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark) to resolve technical issues at the protocol and system levels.

  • Provide technical support and serve as an escalation point for advanced issues encountered during Zscaler deployment and operation.

  • Collaborate with IT, security, and application teams to ensure seamless implementation and integration into business processes.

  • Document technical solutions, including configuration guides, deployment procedures, network diagrams, runbooks, and troubleshooting steps.

  • Stay current with Zscaler product updates and industry best practices for cloud-based security implementations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience implementing and managing Zscaler security solutions (ZIA and ZPA).

  • Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP), OSI layers, VPN technologies, policy-based access controls, and cloud security concepts (SASE, Zero Trust).

  • Experience integrating Zscaler with identity management and cloud/SaaS platforms.

  • Proficiency with network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark and packet analyzers.

  • Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is preferred.

  • Ability to write clear and detailed technical documentation and network diagrams.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

  • Zscaler certifications (e.g., Zscaler Certified Professional), or industry certifications (CISSP, CCNP Security) are preferred but not required.
