Job description

  • Configure, manage and troubleshoot Linux and Windows operating systems. Installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot and maintain integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

  • Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
  • Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.

  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and will remain involved in the resolution process.

  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.
  • Must be proficient with troubleshooting in a Linux Red Hat environment.

  • Extensive experience with VMWare
  • Demonstrated experience with modern automation/configuration tools such as Splunk or Ansible
  • STE/STN compliance and mitigation.

Education & Related Experience:

Bachelor’s degree with at least twenty (20) years of relevant experience.

Experience as a systems engineer on one or more IT platforms.

Requires DoD 8570 compliance with IASAE Level II certification, and Computing Environment (CE) Certification. The CE certification requirements can be fulfilled with either Microsoft OS, Cent OS/Red Hat OS CE certifications.

Benefits & conditions

Salary: $162,000-$215,000

Salary ranges are determined by multiple factors, including but not limited to:

Knowledge, skills, & abilities Years of experience

Education/Certifications Program placement

Duties & responsibilities Internal equity

More detailed information will be provided once those factors are known and addressed.

OVERTIME STATEMENT:

40 hours is the standard workweek. Some programs may allow additional hours to be worked as needed. A limited number of programs have on-call requirements where compensation is provided for being engaged to wait. In all circumstances, technical employees will be paid for all time worked.

BONUS STATEMENT: All billable employees are eligible to earn quarterly bonuses that are based on the number of hours worked for that period. This hourly requirement is roughly 92% of hours available to bill in a given quarter. Quarterly Hours Bonuses are paid out on the same payroll as the time worked in that prior quarter (typically 21 days after the quarter ends.)
