This IT Support Specialist position is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a family-oriented organization that has been in business for over 100 years. The location of this position is flexible. The chosen candidate could fulfill the work in a hybrid capacity. Candidates located outside of the local area will not be considered, must be within commuting distance., * We are looking for a dedicated IT professional to support and maintain our growing IT infrastructure, which serves both warehouse and small-scale retail environments. As a medium-sized business, we manage approximately 300 systems across 48 locations. This role will work closely with IT leadership to help drive team initiatives focused on delivering a stable, efficient IT environment for end users, while also supporting ongoing infrastructure growth and innovation.

Objectives of this role

  • Support and monitor all user facing infrastructure and systems installations, including configuration, testing, and maintenance
  • Act as first line support for end users in our environment
  • Identify potential issues and implement solutions proactively
  • Engage regularly with the team, providing reports on project status, activities, and achievements

Responsibilities

  • Manage support requests and incidents in our ticketing system by acting within SLA and documenting work provided
  • Install and configure operating systems, software, and hardware components
  • Develop knowledgebase articles for regular fixes, maintenance routines, and specialized systems as they are developed
  • Maintain IT asset inventory by regularly reviewing, auditing, and updating the asset inventory
  • Provide user education regarding our internal systems through direct guidance and external knowledge base offerings
  • Perform tenant management for Active Directory and Office 365. Including, but not limited to: User management, access management, security management, and content management

Requirements

  • Experience with or knowledge of scripting languages and operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, system performance-monitoring tools, active directories, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching
  • Expertise in managing networks spread over large distances and several locations
  • Experience in a user/customer service based helpdesk environment
  • Ability to lift 50 or more pounds

Desired experience and qualifications

  • Operating systems: Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2019+, Linux
  • Networking systems: Meraki, Unifi, Cradlepoint
  • 3rd Party Providers: Epicor, RingCentral, Apple Business Manager, Sophos
  • Productivity administration: O365, Exchange, Defender 365, Purview, Intune, Sharepoint
  • Scripting: Powershell, Batch
  • Experience with a ticketing system and remote management tools
