MATLAB Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive team of Network and Systems Integration Engineers to lead and support radar system testing in a dynamic lab environment. This role is critical to ensuring that Systems and Software Engineering teams have the necessary hardware, networking, and infrastructure to execute development and testing initiatives effectively.

Responsiblities:

• Set up and maintain radar string environments, including servers, network switches, cabling (Cat5, RF), and power systems.
• Perform hardware configuration, racking and stacking, and OS installation (Windows/Linux).
• Manage lab operations including inventory tracking, equipment shipments, and coordination with IT and engineering teams.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop testing and ensure systems are tactically representative of real radar configurations.
• Guide and mentor team members on string setup using established procedures and documentation.
• Interface with internal stakeholders and external visitors, including clients and test site personnel.
• Report regularly to management on lab status, equipment readiness, and operational issues.As a System Engineer supporting one of our defense client’s advanced radar systems, you’ll play a key role in the full lifecycle of radar system development - from trade studies and concept investigation through agile design and deployment. Your work will focus on applying advanced mathematics, signal processing, and electronic protection techniques to enhance radar performance in complex operational environments. You’ll use tools like MATLAB to model radar behavior, simulate system-of-systems interactions, and validate performance against mission requirements. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll help shape technical solutions that directly support missile defense and surveillance operations. This program is supporting classified environments which requires candidates to have an Active Secret Clearance. This role must sit on-site in either Tewksbury, MA or Woburn, MA in a 9/80 schedule (Preference is for Tewksbury, MA).

** Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)

• 5+ years hands on engineering / relevant professional experience

• Experience with MATLAB and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, Java)

• Applied mathematics experience in modeling and simulation

• Knowledge of statistical analysis, Design of Experiments, and Analysis of Alternatives

• Background in signal processing, electronic protection, and applied mathematics

• Experience with ground/sea-based radar systems

• Strong technical writing and presentation skills

• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams - * Familiarity with Git, Docker, Confluence, or Jira

• Experience using high-performance computing (HPC) environments for simulation

Compensation: $55-65/HR Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401K retirement account access with employer matching.
