Job description

Piedmont Metals is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to provide day-to-day support for computer systems, hardware, software, and network-related issues across the organization. This role is responsible for setting up and maintaining user workstations, troubleshooting technical problems, managing IT assets, and supporting technology initiatives that help keep our operations running efficiently., * Order, receive, configure, and test new computer equipment and peripherals.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for computers, monitors, printers, and other IT assets.
  • Set up new computers, user accounts, and system access for employees.
  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, printers, and related technology issues.
  • Respond to help desk requests and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT personnel or third-party vendors as needed.
  • Assist with workstation moves, upgrades, and equipment replacements.
  • Support basic network troubleshooting and connectivity issues.
  • Document support activities, equipment assignments, and system changes.
  • Assist with IT projects, technology rollouts, and system upgrades.
  • Follow company IT policies, security standards, and best practices., * Timely resolution of user support requests.
  • Accurate tracking and management of IT assets.
  • Smooth onboarding and workstation setup for new employees.
  • Reliable operation of end-user hardware and software.
  • Strong customer service and positive user experiences.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Associate’s degree?, The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized, and able to troubleshoot technical issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment., * Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot common hardware and software issues.

  • Solid understanding of PC components, operating systems, printers, and standard business applications.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts, equipment, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills., * Associate degree or technical certification in Information Technology, Computer Systems, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in an IT support, help desk, or technical support role.
  • Experience supporting users in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Windows operating systems, and Active Directory.
  • Experience with asset management and IT inventory tracking systems.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • PC hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Operating system and application support.
  • Basic networking and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • IT asset management and documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment and peripherals up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to walk throughout office, warehouse, and manufacturing areas.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and work at a computer for extended periods.
