Job description
- Build and maintain our on-prem server infrastructure - rack hardware, networking, and virtualization (we’re moving to Proxmox).
- Design and manage high-capacity storage for game assets (we’re talking terabytes) - performance, redundancy, and backups included.
- Keep our build servers fast and reliable - game builds in Unreal Engine can run for hours, so build infrastructure performance directly impacts the team’s productivity.
- Administer and secure our Linux servers and Azure cloud resources.
- Manage hybrid identity with Active Directory and Azure Entra ID.
- Automate routine tasks and infrastructure provisioning - ideally with an Infrastructure-as-Code approach (Ansible, Terraform, or similar).
- Support our ~110 Windows endpoints alongside our M365 environment.
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to improve build and deployment workflows as the role grows.
Requirements
Do you have experience in VMware?, * Completed training or degree in IT / system integration, with approximately 3-5 years of hands-on experience.
- Strong Linux server administration skills; you’re comfortable living in the terminal.
- Experience designing and building server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure - ideally at a scale where performance and capacity planning matter.
- Solid understanding of network architecture, firewalls, and IT security practices.
- Familiarity with hybrid identity management (Active Directory & Azure Entra ID).
- Automation mindset - you’d rather script a repeatable task than do it twice. Bash and Python are your friends; bonus points for IaC tools like Ansible or Terraform.
- Independent, solution-oriented, and comfortable communicating in English across departments.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Proxmox VE or VMWare.
- Familiarity with game development infrastructure - e.g. Unreal Engine build pipelines, asset storage, or version control for large binary files (Perforce, Git LFS).
- Windows endpoint administration (Intune, Group Policy, M365).
- German language skills.
- Interest in DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Benefits & conditions
- Flexible 38-hour workweek with a real focus on work-life balance.
- Free drinks, snacks, and fresh organic fruit.
- Monthly transport subsidy and lunch vouchers (after probation).
- Access to the latest gaming tech and room to grow your skills.
- Team events, game jams, and industry conferences.
Note: Depending on seniority, “knowledge of” requirements may be expected at a “good/very good” level for senior candidates.
