Job description

The BCG Federal team is seeking a knowledgeable and talented Cloud Engineer to provide technical expertise & excellent management/enhancement of our cloud infrastructure environments. Focus will be on building, maintaining, and monitoring infrastructure and applications in a multi-cloud environment. Day-to-day technical focus will involve engineering efforts to implement business driven solutions.

In partnership with your fellow team members, your duties will include:

  • Maintenance of existing cloud resources
  • Partnering with Security & Compliance teams on implementation, policy configuration, and enforcement of BCG Federal standards in our cloud environments.
  • Establishing and reporting on health, performance, and cost metrics for cloud tenants and reporting to Senior Leadership
  • Recommending, implementing, and configuring enhancements to current monitoring, alerting, and backup practices.
  • Identifying and supporting opportunities to streamline our approach to cloud infrastructure engineering activities.
  • Acting as subject matter expert (SME) for cloud engineering in project scoping meetings.
  • Recommending, implementing, and configuring cloud applications and infrastructure for business needs.
  • Anticipating industry direction and evolving customer needs to implement cloud technologies using proper change management principles.

Requirements

Do you have experience in NIST SP 800-53?, * Prior knowledge and experience working with cloud infrastructure such as Azure and AWS

  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure tooling such as networking, virtual machines, key management, and more.
  • Experienced working on tasks involving multiple teams
  • Experience working from a roadmap and delivering on those objectives.
  • Experience in automating cloud infrastructure using scripting such as PowerShell, terraform, etc.
  • Experience translating business objectives into technical requirements.
  • Preferred experience working in a US Government environment
  • US Citizenship, * Working independently as well as part of a virtual, geographically dispersed team bringing a sense of urgency to the tasks at hand
  • Effectively handling difficult and stressful situations with poise, tact, and patience, while demonstrating a sense of urgency
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, and quality-minded
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills, * Cloud Engineering: 5 years (Required)
  • FedRAMP: 2 years (Required)
  • NIST 800-53: 1 year (Required)
  • Federal Standards: 3 years (Required)
