Job description

We are seeking a highly organized, motivated, and customer-focused professional with an active New York mortgage license and at least 3 years of relevant experience to manage inbound inquiries, qualify prospective borrowers, and convert leads into mortgage applications supporting the top Loan Officer for Guaranteed Rate Affinity and top LO in the country, who has 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry, funding over $5 billion in loans.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, is comfortable working long hours when needed, and understands the importance of fast response times, proactive communication, and strong follow-up. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly responsive, and experienced in mortgage intake, borrower communication, and application support, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a smooth intake process from initial inquiry through application submission.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to inbound phone calls and email inquiries in a timely, professional, and responsive manner
  • Qualify prospective borrowers by gathering key information to assess mortgage needs and eligibility
  • Convert qualified leads into completed mortgage applications
  • Collect, review, and organize required borrower documents
  • Ensure mortgage applications are complete, accurate, and compliant
  • Enter and maintain borrower information in the loan origination system and related platforms
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with applicants regarding loan options, timelines, required documentation, and next steps
  • Provide fast follow-up and consistent updates throughout the intake and application process
  • Coordinate with loan officers, processors, underwriters, and other internal team members to move files through the pipeline
  • Track follow-ups, maintain organized records, and help ensure a high level of customer service throughout the process
  • Effectively manage multiple files and priorities in a high-volume environment
  • Stay current on applicable New York licensing requirements, mortgage guidelines, and compliance standards

Requirements

Do you have experience in Sales follow-up?, Required

  • Active New York Mortgage License
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mortgage banking, loan origination, mortgage intake, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of mortgage products, borrower documentation, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work proactively and independently
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work long hours as needed
  • Commitment to fast response times, strong follow-up, and proactive borrower communication
  • Proficiency with loan origination systems, CRM platforms, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Preferred

  • Experience converting inbound leads into mortgage applications
  • Familiarity with New York mortgage lending guidelines
  • Strong customer service and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
