- Install, configure and update election software on 300+ laptops.
- Test desktop printers and resupply with paper and toner.
- Test voting equipment and document results for official record.
- Troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
- Prepare peripherals for dispatch to voting locations (printers, barcode scanners, mice) including packing and custody control.
- Assist with setting up cabling and technical infrastructure at Early Voting Sites and BOE Training Rooms.
- Provide on-site technical support during election training and during Early Voting.
- Provide on-site and telephone technical support to voting locations during voting periods.
- Setup computer workstations for office staff.
- Periodically audit and inventory office tech supplies.
- Assist with basic software and programming related tasks.
- Process and resolve Helpdesk technical support tickets.
- Assist in reconciliation after each election.
- Must be available to work full days and must be able to work up to 50-60 hour work week (including weekends) during election season.
- Must maintain confidentiality of voter information and sign a confidentiality statement before being hired.
Role and Responsibilities: (Election Worker)
- This position will assist with administrative & logistical tasks for the Early Voting team. Position involves a complex level of office support by assisting with planning, organizing and coordinating day to day election activities.
- This position provides assistance in updating documents, including using Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, and Adobe PDF.
- Customer service to include in-person, telephone, and email communication.
Role and Responsibilities: (Election Driver/Courier/Warehouse)
- Assist with packing, staging, and loading supplies onto moving trucks.
- Assist with the setup and break down of equipment and supplies at voting locations across the county.
- Assist with labor intensive warehouse duties including packing, cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Provide courier service on a fixed route during the early voting period between the BOE Operations Center and voting locations including:
- Deliver additional ballots and supplies.
- Pick up prior day’s voted ballots and completed forms.
- Assist with the preparation of the next day’s supplies to be delivered.
- Complete custody forms for each item delivered and picked up.
- Maintain and tidy the stock of extra supplies kept on the vans.
- Maintain the van, which includes: key custody, filing the gas tank as needed, and informing the report-to manager of any issues with or damage to the vehicle on a daily basis.
- Maintain regular communication via cell phone with the report-to manager while on the road performing deliveries and pickups.
- Assist in reconciliation after elections
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Software installation?, * Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the US.
- Must be available to work full day and must be able to work up to 50-60 hour work week (including some weekends) during election season.
- Hardware and Software installation Knowledge of troubleshooting and problem solving with technology - IT Technician
- Strong Microsoft Suite skills, Customer service experience, Data entry experience - Election Worker/Assistant
- Employee must have a valid driver license and be willing to drive. Prefer local candidates who are familiar with Wake County roads and comfortable navigating across the county. - Election Warehouse/ Driver/Courier., * Customer service: 1 year (Required)
- Clerical: 1 year (Required)
- IT hardware/software: 2 years (Required)
