Job description

  1. Provide direct support to the Company’s general manager in the management position of POSCO America Detroit TSC (Technical Service Center) on technical communication.
  2. Based on the findings, analyze technical trends of materials development/applications or usage in the next generation vehicles and create the special reports which can be useful for Solution Marketing which is the POSCO’s key strategic approach to our customers.
  3. Properly communicate or interact with POSCO team in Korea to receive required data, documents or information in connection with preparing responses to automotive customers; Ongoing issues, progress of the relevant works or any findings which can be useful is to be summarized.
  4. Run material qualification processes with automotive steel grades produced in Korea or affiliated production plants located other countries.
  5. Receive/investigate/close claims raised by customers located in Midwestern US and Canada and create claim reports including the root causes and the countermeasures.

Requirements

Work experience at automotive or steel industry is highly preferred, but not required

Degree Required B.S. in mechanical or materials/metallurgical engineering, 1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or materials/metallurgical engineering. Applicants having academic background in the area of steel processing, alloy design, mechanical testing or characterization of flat steel products is highly preferred, but not required.

  1. Computer Skills: Proficiency in a Microsoft Windows operating environment, including e-mail and Microsoft Office software; skillful capability of running sheet metal forming related commercial software such as Autoform, Dynaform, Pam-Stamp and understanding/ interpretation of its forming simulation results (optional, but preferred)
  2. Other Skills: Positive attitude, motivation for his/her own jobs, exemplary attendance, and harmonized team work; highly capable and well organized writing skills in presentation slide and technical reports; fundamental understanding of technical terminologies associated with material characterizations.

Foreign Language Ability: Level 2 (Advanced Level) - able to communicate with minimum difficulty
