Job description

We’re looking for a Senior Software Integration & Test Engineer to take a leading role in driving forward our work within ADAS Infotainment Visualisation HMI. This is a unique opportunity to join a team focused on delivering advanced in-vehicle experiences, including features such as Surround Reality visualisation and intuitive, real-time representations of the vehicle’s environment on screen.

You’ll define and execute integration and testing strategies for Autonomous and Assisted Driving HMI features, ensuring software from multiple third-party suppliers performs seamlessly within the wider system. Collaborating closely with architects, developers, and cross-functional teams across JLR, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, robust solutions while supporting both new feature development and ongoing enhancements.

This is an exciting time to join JLR as it continues to invest in next-generation software platforms and intelligent, driver-focused technologies. You’ll work with modern, automation-led and AI-driven testing approaches, with the opportunity to shape how these capabilities evolve, directly influencing future vehicle programmes and the overall driving experience.

WHAT TO EXPECT

In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality outcomes and supporting the wider team through a range of responsibilities, including -

  • Analysing sub-system requirements to define clear, structured software test cases, plans, and execution strategies
  • Create and execute detailed test cases and plans using standard JLR tools such as Xray and CIARA
  • Develop and maintain scalable test automation frameworks to support increasingly complex HMI features
  • Carry out Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) testing, applying the most appropriate methods for each requirement
  • Ensure all activities align with JLR standards and industry best practice for software testing and engineering
  • Track and manage testing progress to ensure timely delivery against key programme milestones
  • Define and manage software integration and release processes into target ECUs, providing clear testing evidence and performance KPIs

Requirements

  • Experience in software testing with a solid understanding of HiL and SiL testing methods
  • Proven background in industry-standard HiL/SiL, including fault injection and functional testing approaches
  • Proficiency with test management tools such as Xray and requirements traceability tools (e.g. TRM or equivalent)
  • Experience defining and maintaining effective test automation strategies and frameworks
  • Good understanding of the defect lifecycle, including triage, tracking, and resolution management
  • Ability to lead or support teams while ensuring adherence to test processes and quality standards
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with experience collaborating across cross-functional Agile environments

Benefits & conditions

This role is rewarding in more ways than one. On top of our core offering, you’ll do extraordinary work with amazing people. In addition, you can expect a wide range of benefits:

  • Discounted car purchase (open to family members, too)
  • A 52 week maternity leave policy and a 4 week paternity leave policy. Other parental leave policies are available
  • A competitive pension
  • A JLR company performance-related bonus
  • An employee learning scheme providing funding for; education, training and other activities which support the development of personal skills and promote lifelong learning
  • Access to open, employee-led support and social networks
  • Comprehensive Life Assurance and Income Protection policies
  • Flexible working

Flexible working is offered for specific roles dependant on responsibilities. Please speak to the hiring team for details

Creating Modern Luxury requires a modern approach to work. At JLR, hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement providing employees more choice and flexibility around how, when and where they work. Some roles require more on-site work, but details of this can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview stage.

We work hard to nurture a culture that is inclusive and welcoming to all. We understand candidates may require reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process. Please discuss these with your recruiter so we can accommodate your needs.
