Job description
AccuCurrent Corporation is a multi-state low-voltage and fiber optic integration firm with a track record on mission-critical programs, including preferred-vendor status with a leading semiconductor manufacturer. We are expanding into large-scale data center fiber splicing and are hiring an experienced Fiber Splicing Superintendent to build and lead the program in the field.
This is a leadership role for a proven splicing professional who wants ownership. You will run the crews, own the quality and the schedule, and be the person our prime partners trust on site. We equip our teams with the right tools (Fujikura 90R and 90S+ splicers, Fluke Versiv certification platforms) and we back our crews with the financial strength to sustain large programs. We need the leader to match.
What You Will Do
- Lead and manage fiber-splicing crews on large data center and outside-plant (OSP) programs, from mobilization through closeout.
- Own daily production, splice quality, and adherence to the loss spec and owner standards.
- Direct foremen, splice teams (splicer plus prepper), and test technicians; size and deploy crews to the scope and schedule.
- Coordinate closely with the general contractor or prime install team so splicing stays aligned with fiber pulls and commissioning milestones.
- Drive safety on site: orientations, badging, PPE, and full compliance with owner and OSHA requirements.
- Oversee testing and certification (Tier 1 OLTS and Tier 2 OTDR), endface inspection, and complete documentation handed to the prime.
- Manage consumables, equipment readiness, and calibration so crews never sit idle.
- Mentor and develop preppers and splicers, and help recruit and vet new crew members.
- Report production, quality, and progress to the project manager and client.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Telecommunications testing equipment?, * 10+ years in fiber optics, with multiple large data center or hyperscale splicing programs led personally.
- Proven experience managing multiple splice crews (20+ technicians) in the field.
- Expert hands-on command of ribbon mass fusion (Fujikura 90R class) and single-fiber core alignment (Fujikura 90S+ class).
- Strong working knowledge of OTDR and OLTS testing, splice loss budgets, and documentation standards.
- Fluency with data center and owner-specific specifications and TIA standards.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively to project sites; current programs are concentrated in Texas, with work nationwide.
- Valid driver license and the ability to be badged on secure data center sites.
Preferred
- BICSI certification (Technician, RCDD, or equivalent).
- Experience with Sumitomo, EXFO, Viavi, and Fluke platforms.
- OSHA 30, first aid and CPR, lift and ladder certifications.
- Prior experience building or scaling a splicing program from the ground up.
