Job description
The Splicing Manager / Supervisor provides in-market, field-based oversight of fiber-optic splicing crews across multiple project locations. This role is responsible for directing day-to-day splicing activities, coordinating workflow, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and serving as the primary field point of contact. The position is travel-heavy and focused on leadership, guidance, and accountability.
We’re looking for someone with a decent grasp of day-to-day splicing.
Travel:
This role includes some travel to various markets, as needed. The frequency and length will vary project to project. RLM coordinates and books all travel arrangements, including flights and lodging. We also provide a daily meal per diem for days worked that require an overnight stay.
Key Responsibilities
- Be physically present in assigned markets to oversee daily splicing operations
- Direct and prioritize splicing crews’ day-to-day activities and work plans
- Serve as the main field liaison between splicing crews, project management, and construction teams
- Ensure splicing work is performed according to project specifications, quality standards, and schedules
- Monitor progress, productivity, and workmanship throughout the workday
- Review and verify splice documentation, test results, and as-built information
- Identify and resolve field issues and resource needs
- Enforce safety compliance and jobsite standards in accordance with OSHA and company policies
- Report daily production status, issues, and manpower needs to management
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Telecommunications outside plant operations?, * 3+ years of fiber-optic splicing experience
- Prior experience leading or supervising splicing crews
- Strong understanding of OSP splicing processes, quality standards, and testing requirements
- Ability to interpret fiber prints, splice diagrams, and route maps
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable traveling and remaining in project markets as needed
- Proficient with field documentation tools and basic computer applications
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel, * 3+ years of fiber-optic splicing experience
