What you’ll achieve

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be a technical leader responsible for architecting and delivering complex, scalable, high-performance software systems. You will shape technical direction, mentor senior engineers, drive engineering excellence, and influence strategy across product teams. Principal Engineers at Dell act as project leaders and architectural anchors, guiding teams toward high-impact, high-quality outcomes.

You will:

  • Lead design and architecture for large-scale, distributed, or microservices systems
  • Prepare, review, and refine technical specifications and architectural documentation; develop end-to-end software solutions with deep involvement in both backend and frontend layers
  • Own complex technical implementations, ensuring performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability; conduct design reviews, code reviews, and provide mentorship to senior and mid-level developers
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver new capabilities, modernization initiatives, enterprise-grade integrations and influence engineering standards, best practices, and long-term platform strategy
  • Drive technical risk identification, mitigation, and solutioning

Requirements

Do you have experience in Tooling?, * 8-12 years of professional software development experience delivering complex systems at scale

  • Deep technical expertise in one or more backend languages (Java, Go, Python, C#, or similar) and experience building distributed or microservices-based architectures; strong proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) and JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Advanced understanding of system architecture, data modeling, multithreading, API design, performance optimization and experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native tooling (Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD pipelines)
  • Hands-on experience with both relational and NoSQL databases; ability to independently design, implement, and debug complex, large-scale systems
  • Demonstrated leadership in technical decision-making, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience integrating AI-enabled automation and agentic AI (LLMs, autonomous agents, orchestration frameworks), along with familiarity in RAG, prompt engineering, vector databases, and enterprise platforms like ServiceNow
  • Strong foundation in Agile and cloud-native ecosystems, including GitOps, Kubernetes (Helm/Kustomize), security practices, and contributing to platform strategy or architectural governance
