Job description
The IT Cloud Systems Administrator plays a key role in designing and implementing cloud-based infrastructure for CHA’s centrally managed applications. The administrator collaborates closely with agile teams to support continuous delivery and guide solutions through the SDLC into production. This role requires hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, Terraform for infrastructure-as-code, and strong security and networking expertise.
- Build, maintain, and optimize automated build-test-deploy workflows using Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins to enable rapid, safe software delivery.
- Develop and maintain scalable, version-controlled cloud infrastructure using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates to ensure environment parity across dev, test, and production.
- Design highly scalable, resilient, and secure data platform solutions in Azure, including compute, networking, and managed storage services.
- Support containerization using Docker and manage deployments across Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Azure Container Apps, focusing on scaling, ingress, and security.
- Automate security scans, manage secrets via Azure Key Vault, and enforce secure coding practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Define and instrument logging, monitoring, and alerting strategies to proactively detect and prevent system failures.
- Own and lead triage for critical platform/infrastructure issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and maintain detailed incident post-mortems to prevent recurrence.
- Provide technical leadership, conduct regular code reviews, and share knowledge to foster a high-performance DevOps culture within the organization.
- Implement and automate compliance controls using Azure Policy, Azure Blueprints, and policy-as-code frameworks to maintain regulatory standards.
- Partner with developers, security teams, and business stakeholders through Agile/Scrum ceremonies to align technical solutions with project KPIs.
- Validate high-availability and business continuity plans, including multi-region deployments and graceful degradation strategies.
- Communicate contact or system changes to program leads, internal stakeholders, management, and staff as appropriate.
- Ensure operational stability through routine checks, updates, and process improvements.
- Perform maintenance & support after business hours and on weekends as needed.
