Job description

We are seeking a Software Controls Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of custom automation, software, and manufacturing solutions in a medical device environment. This role will focus on software-driven projects, requiring a highly data-oriented engineer with strong database experience and the ability to independently manage projects from requirements gathering through implementation.

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of software engineering, controls engineering, and project management experience, with the ability to lead small- to mid-sized projects while maintaining schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables., * Lead and execute software and automation projects from concept through deployment.

  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
  • Design, develop, and support custom software applications and equipment control systems.
  • Work with databases, data integration, and system architecture to support manufacturing and automation solutions.
  • Integrate hardware, software, controls, and off-the-shelf components into custom systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and process development teams to deliver effective solutions.
  • Identify technical risks and drive resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support validation, documentation, and regulatory requirements within a medical device manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Do you have experience in WPF?, * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of engineering experience in software, controls, automation, or related disciplines.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft .NET development (C#, VB.NET, WPF).
  • Experience working with databases, queries, data structures, integrations, and data-driven applications.
  • Proven ability to independently manage projects from kickoff through completion.
  • Experience estimating effort, managing scope, and delivering projects on schedule and within budget., * Experience with manufacturing automation, equipment controls, PLCs, HMIs, robotics, motion control, or machine vision.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as TCP/IP, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, or Serial communications.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing environments, MES systems, or ERP systems.
  • Experience within regulated industries such as medical devices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
