Job description

Under the supervision of the Dean of STEM or designee, to teach introductory and intermediate classes in Information Technology Networking including the setup of information technology networks and emerging technologies. Responsible for preparing, conducting, and evaluating technical training programs for IT Networking. Writes literature and materials to be used in programs and hands on designs exercises to enhance lectures. This position may instruct courses at multiple MATC campuses in either day and/or evening programs. Related duties include curriculum development, participation in departmental and campus activities, and other duties as assigned. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

  • Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
  • Manage the classroom/laboratory.
  • Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
  • Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
  • Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
  • Collaborate with advisory committee in program area.
  • Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
  • Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
  • Support student organizations and activities.
  • Develop relationships with business and industry.
  • Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
  • Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in field.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Start Date: This position supports the STEM Pathway and is available to start in the fall 2026 semester - August 10, 2026.

Hours: This is a part-time faculty pool position. This is an “applicant pool” posting. Assignments are temporary, not guaranteed, can vary in hours/days, and will depend entirely on course availability and department needs each semester. All work must be performed in the state of Wisconsin. We are seeking candidates with flexibility to teach assignments to include any combination of the following:

  • Instructional Modality: In-person
  • Teaching Times: Daytime, evening, and/or weekend classes

Salary: The starting hourly wage for all part-time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Part-time faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour. This starting hourly wage of $40 an hour is non-negotiable.

Interview: As part of the interview process, selected candidates are required to prepare and present an interactive theory lesson and simulated teaching demonstration lasting 10 minutes of the overall interview time, which may be conducted in-person or virtually.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Vocational education within information technology industry?, If you are using degrees, courses, or credits from an institution outside the United States, they must be from an institution considered equivalent to a regionally accredited post-secondary institution in the United States.
