Back End Software Developer

Blu Omega is seeking a Job Title to support a federal program focused on mission area. This role operates within a environment type and is responsible for primary function across stated scope. The position requires experience supporting stated functional areas within a mission-driven environment., * Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services supporting AI-enabled applications and enterprise search capabilities

• Develop and manage APIs, microservices, and system integrations
• Build secure data pipelines and services connecting mission systems, enterprise data sources, and AI platforms
• Support integration of AI technologies into operational workflows
• Design and optimize database structures, data access layers, and backend architectures
• Collaborate with front-end developers, AI engineers, cloud engineers, and architects to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Implement monitoring, logging, and performance optimization strategies
• Participate in code reviews, testing, CI/CD processes, and Agile development activities

Do you have experience in Software engineering?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Familiarity with cloud-native development in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
• 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on backend engineering
• Experience developing APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
• Strong experience with one or more backend languages: Python, Java, Node.js/TypeScript, or Go
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs
• Understanding of secure software development practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Databricks and large-scale data processing environments
• Experience integrating AI-powered applications, Generative AI capabilities, or LLM services
• Familiarity with AI agent frameworks, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, or enterprise search technologies
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure automation
• Experience supporting federal government programs or highly regulated environments
