Job description
The Campus IT Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining and supporting all technology systems across the campus to ensure reliable, uninterrupted operation of educational, administrative, and communication services. This hands-on role includes network cabling and wiring, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting internet connectivity, audiovisual systems, copiers, printers, phones, security systems, and other campus technologies. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can independently diagnose and resolve technical problems while providing excellent customer support to staff and students., Network & Infrastructure
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot campus network infrastructure, including cabling, switches, wireless access points, and internet connectivity.
- Perform network wiring, cable management, and equipment installations.
- Monitor network performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate with internet service providers and vendors as needed.
IT Support & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues across campus.
- Provide technical support for faculty, staff, and administrative personnel.
- Configure, maintain, and deploy computers, laptops, tablets, and peripheral devices.
- Manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.
Telecommunications & Office Systems
- Support campus phone systems, voicemail, and communication technologies.
- Maintain and troubleshoot printers, copiers, scanners, and multifunction devices.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs with third-party vendors when necessary.
Audio/Visual & Classroom Technology
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot projectors, displays, video conferencing systems, sound systems, and classroom technology.
- Support campus events requiring audiovisual equipment.
- Ensure meeting rooms and learning spaces remain fully operational.
Systems Administration
- Perform routine system updates, backups, and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain technology inventories and documentation.
- Assist with cybersecurity best practices and technology policies.
- Monitor and support cloud-based services and applications.
Campus Technology Operations
- Respond quickly to technology outages and service disruptions.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they impact operations.
- Ensure all campus technology systems remain functional and available.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day IT operations.
