Job description

The Director, Enterprise Data & Billing Operations leads the data, billing, and operational systems functions that support client delivery, invoicing, reporting, and business decision-making. This role is responsible for establishing scalable data practices, strengthening operational workflows, and ensuring that key business information is accurate, consistent, governed, and usable across the organization.

The Director partners closely with Client Delivery, Commercial Operations, IT, Finance, Operations, Analytics, and senior leadership to align data, systems, billing processes, and operational support with business priorities. The role provides leadership, structure, and oversight to ensure the organization can execute reliably, improve continuously, and scale effectively., Enterprise Data Management & Governance

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of enterprise data management practices, including data standards, definitions, controls, documentation, and governance processes.
  • Promote the accuracy, consistency, traceability, and auditability of operational and financial data used for client delivery, invoicing, reporting, and analysis.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to clarify data ownership, authoritative data sources, andappropriate useof business data.
  • Collaborate with IT and analytics resources to support data architecture, pipelines, reporting structures, and business intelligence needs.

Billing & Invoice Operations

  • Provide oversight of end-to-end invoice generation processes, including data readiness, validation, invoice preparation, issue resolution, and delivery coordination.

  • Work with Finance, Operations, Client Delivery, and other stakeholders to supporttimely,accurate, and contractually aligned invoicing.
  • Identifyand implement opportunities to improve billing accuracy, process consistency, data quality, and operational efficiency.

Business Operations & Systems Enablement

  • Lead the development and support of functional systems, tools, and workflows that enable operational execution and business scalability.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams toidentifyprocess, data, and system gaps and translate business needs into practical operational solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen process discipline, data capture, reporting, and workflow effectiveness.

Project & Initiative Leadership

  • Lead data, billing, and operational systems initiatives aligned with business priorities.
  • Coordinate planning, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder communication to support effective execution.
  • Provide status reporting, recommendations, and decision support to leadership.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Serve as a key liaison between Client Delivery, Commercial Operations, IT, Finance, Operations, and senior leadership on data, billing, reporting, and operational systems matters.
  • Promote alignment on data usage, reporting expectations, process standards, and operational execution.
  • Provide clear insights and recommendations that support business decisions.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop team members responsible for data operations, billing support, reporting, and operational enablement.
  • Align team priorities, capabilities, and outcomes with business needs.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, documentation, continuous improvement, and service-oriented support.

Financial, Control & Risk Support

  • Support budgeting, resource planning, and cost-effective execution related to data, billing, and operational systems activities.

  • Helpidentifyand mitigate operational, billing, and data-related risks throughappropriate controls, documentation, and governance practices.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Stakeholder relationship building?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Data Management, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience in data management, data governance, business operations, billing operations, or data-driven operational leadership.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate
  • Large relational database experience - SQL Server, Redshift, etc. - including SQL query building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving business processes, systems, reporting, and data quality.
  • Experience supporting invoice generation, transactional operations, financial processes, or similar operational workflows.
  • Strong analytical, process improvement,project management,problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead teams, manage priorities, andoperateeffectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the energy, utility, distributed generation, or related industry.
  • Prior experience in a director-level, senior operations, data, billing, or business systems role.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks, operational controls, business intelligence, and workflow automation practices.
