Job description

The Day Shift, CCTV Operator is responsible for monitoring live surveillance systems, detecting suspicious or unsafe activity, documenting incidents, and coordinating with field personnel during overnight operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining situational awareness, protecting client assets, and ensuring rapid response to security events during non-business hours. The operator must remain vigilant, detail-oriented, and capable of responding quickly to potential threats in a fast-paced security environment., CCTV Monitoring & Surveillance

  • Continuously monitor live CCTV camera feeds across multiple client locations during overnight hours
  • Identify suspicious activity, security risks, trespassing, safety hazards, or policy violations
  • Perform proactive surveillance and virtual patrols using video management systems (VMS)
  • Document all notable observations and incidents in real time
  • Capture, bookmark, and export video footage when required for evidence or reporting
  • Escalate critical events immediately according to company escalation procedures
  • Maintain constant situational awareness across all monitored properties

Incident Response & Dispatch Support

  • Receive and respond to alarm alerts, motion detections, and system notifications
  • Coordinate with field officers, patrol units, and emergency services when incidents occur
  • Provide real-time updates to supervisors and management during active situations
  • Monitor patrol activities and confirm completion of required security tours
  • Maintain communication with overnight field staff to ensure operational coverage

Reporting & Documentation

  • Create accurate and detailed Daily Activity Reports (DARs) for overnight operations
  • Write incident reports based on CCTV observations and alarm events
  • Maintain detailed communication logs and event timelines
  • Ensure all monitoring activity and incidents are properly documented in company systems
  • Prepare video evidence packages when requested by management or clients

Client Support & Communication

  • Respond professionally to overnight client inquiries regarding security events
  • Provide incident summaries when required
  • Follow client-specific security protocols and emergency procedures
  • Ensure all client contact information and escalation procedures are current

Administrative & Compliance Duties

  • Maintain monitoring logs and system activity records
  • Track alarms, patrol checks, and security events during the shift
  • Assist with internal reviews by ensuring proper documentation and video retention
  • Support compliance with company security policies and operational procedures

Requirements

Do you have experience in Patrolling?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High school diploma or equivalent required

  • 1-2+ years of CCTV monitoring, security operations, dispatch, or surveillance experience preferred
  • Ability to maintain focus and vigilance during overnight shifts
  • Strong multitasking ability in high-alert environments
  • Proficiency with video management systems (VMS) and security monitoring software
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
  • Strong written communication skills for professional reporting
  • Ability to remain calm and make decisions during live incidents

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC)
  • Familiarity with alarm monitoring platforms and remote guard systems
  • Experience exporting and preserving CCTV footage for investigations
  • Knowledge of incident escalation and emergency response procedures
  • Experience conducting remote/virtual patrols
