DevOps Systems Engineer

PioneerTech is seeking a DevOps System Engineer to support database administration, system optimization, and security compliance within Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. This role ensures database performance, scalability, and reliability while maintaining adherence to DoD security standards., * SME for system installation, integration, build, and configuration support.

• Provide exercise support for Joint Staff J7 events to include Tier III engineering, testing, upgrades, and technology insertion for various modeling & simulation and AV systems supporting for training/exercise simulations.
• Coordinate and consult with Tier I and II support staff and event controllers to ensure equipment availability, optimal circuit quality and reliability during Joint Staff J-7 events that are aligned to joint training exercise campaign.
• Test and verify all systems and UC components are configured properly and compliant prior to deploying in production.
• Coordinate with and train system operators on upgrades to Joint Staff J7 training and exercise environments.

Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s Degree Computer Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field ‘OR six years of relevant experience. (Minimum)

Current DoDD-8140/8570 certification (Required) One of the following:

• CompTIA Security+ CE
• GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
• Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP)
• System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
• RHCSA Red Hat Certified System Administrator
• RHCDS Red Hat Certified Data Center Specialist, * Code automation/scripting to support systems and application configuration management, integrations, testing, and deployments, preferably using an Agile framework approach.
• Familiarization with use of containerization (AWS S3, Kubernetes Rancher, Docker, GITLab) to automate the SW development lifecycle and expedite test and deploy of application environments.
• Adept at integrating and deploying capabilities within virtualized Linux/Window environments.
• Collaborate with coding teams to synch and integrate HW/SW environments in support of events and training exercises.
• Provides general supervision to system installation staff.
• Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Points, and Vision.

Preferred Requirements:

• Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• Experience working with the Joint Staff (JS) or COCOMs.
• Experience implementing and employing containers to automate the SW development lifecycle and expedite test and deploy of training applications.
• VMWare VCP; CompTIA Linux+ or other Linux certification.
• Terraform or Rancher training or certification.
• Experience with Terraform or Ansible to manage Infrastructure as Code approach to maintaining software application test and deploy environments.
• Experience coding and using AWS S3 or Kubernetes Rancher to containerize SW application environments for rapid development, test, and deployments.
• Experience working in military training and/or high-tempo military mission environments.
