Job description

Responsible for local system and Desktop needs and participate in general enterprise support to include virtualization, Network systems, data storage, instrument workstations. As well as client desktop and application support in a mixed Linux/Windows Virtualization environment.

Requirements

  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity of all hardware and server resources.
  • Troubleshoot diverse range of hardware and software.
  • Provide on-site user and technical training when needed.
  • Assist with Server maintenance and SAN / NAS and Network Configurations
  • Create, manage and respond to support cases submitted by customers, partners
  • Review system logs and verify the completion of scheduled backups
  • Schedule, plan, implement and installation and testing of new products and improvements to systems relating to Linux and Windows systems.
  • Basic knowledge of L1-L7 network architecture, TCP/IP, Switching, Routing, and Optical communication technology. Managing VPN (IPSEC / SSL-VPN)
  • Solid understanding & Knowledge of Linux/windows environment, configuration.
  • Work closely with various groups within Operations to drive efficiencies.
  • Familiar with cables and fibers used in networking physical layer.
  • Knowledge and Manage of DHCP, DNS, Active Directory
  • Candidate will possess strong knowledge of Linux systems and internals (CentOS/Windows preferred), with a good understanding of networking and related protocols.
  • Experience with multiple NAS/SAN storage environment. Working knowledge of NetApp On tap preferred.
  • Create PC, servers, network setup manual, Troubleshooting report etc, according to supervisor request., Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline, Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and adjust based on business demands and changes.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment that will challenge organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
