Job description

We are seeking a Communications Specialist to join an Infrastructure Cabling Team supporting network operations across Kentucky. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience installing, testing, troubleshooting, terminating, and repairing network cabling.

The selected candidate will work from the Frankfort office and support field assignments throughout the state. Daily travel may be required, and occasional overnight stays may be necessary depending on project needs. A company/state vehicle will be provided for transporting equipment and materials., * Install, run, test, troubleshoot, terminate, and repair network cabling.

  • Work with CAT5, CAT6, and CAT6A cabling in various infrastructure environments.
  • Assist with cabling projects across multiple locations throughout Kentucky.
  • Perform field work as part of a structured infrastructure cabling team.
  • Use testing tools and troubleshooting methods to identify and resolve cabling issues.
  • Maintain equipment, materials, and vehicle readiness for daily assignments.
  • Follow safety, quality, and operational standards while working onsite and in the field.
  • Document work performed and communicate project status as needed.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Twisted pair cables handling?, * Hands-on experience with CAT5, CAT6, and/or CAT6A network cabling.

  • Experience with cable installation, testing, troubleshooting, termination, and repair.
  • Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability and willingness to travel daily throughout Kentucky as needed.
  • Ability to accommodate occasional overnight travel when required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move cabling equipment and materials as needed.
  • Strong reliability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team., * Fiber optic cabling experience.
  • Experience working on infrastructure, network operations, or field cabling teams.
  • Familiarity with cable testing tools and industry-standard cabling practices.
