Job description
- Ownership of the design and maintenance of the core platform.
- Defining and creating high fidelity prototypes, wireframes and screen-flow diagrams in partnership with engineering, product and subject matter experts
- Partnering with UI engineers and QA to guide and implement visual design and UX decisions
- Working cross-functionally with the leadership, client engagement, product, and engineering teams to build alignment on the strategic design roadmap and goals for each quarter
- Managing and ordering the design work backlog, working with product management to ensure that it accurately reflects current priorities and business value
- Collaborating with the engineering team to facilitate backlog grooming and sprint planning
- Supporting the QA team to perform internal acceptance testing on features and bug fixes before they are released
- High availability to the engineering team to answer questions and provide guidance regarding acceptance criteria, business needs and work priorities
- Presenting new product design and functionality to internal and external stakeholders in regular sprint reviews and demos
Requirements
- 5+ years of software product design experience
- Track record of delivering high-quality user experience and interaction design on a SaaS web application
- Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction or a related field or comparable experience
- Hands-on experience and proficient knowledge of design technologies such as Sketch, Invision, Adobe CS
- Strong understanding of Agile and lean UX methods and practices
Preferred experience for the role includes:
- At least 2 years in healthcare technology or life sciences industry
- Understanding of clinical trial management and related software applications
- Experience with complex SaaS applications
- Understanding of HTML, JavaScript & CSS capabilities
- Exposure to working with protected health information (PHI) and/or personal identifiable information (PII) desirable
