Job description

  • Ensure daily thorough timely and accurate operational audit of Import Agent files.
  • Maintain and standardize YLA, NKYS, JSOX, Government and other operational procedures and requirements.
  • Provide daily feedback to Import Agent and Supervisor based on audit results and discrepancies in each file.
  • Recommend process improvements to ensure 100% accuracy & compliance within file processing responsibilities; recommend corrective solutions to Import team members as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other Data Quality Analysts to ensure consistency of processes and process improvements across branches.
  • Review daily internal reports, exception reports and NYKS Credit reports.
  • Create management reports as required and provide analysis of performance measures.
  • Maintain specific customer documentation requirements.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the rate management applications
  • Generate, track and manage urgent requests such as payment requisitions, wire transfers, etc.
  • Monitor, respond and follow-up on e-mails under timeline established by management.

Requirements

  • 4 year College Degree plus 3 - 5 years’ experience in an operational role with Ocean Carrier or NVOCC-related business required; or combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Must have direct knowledge of ocean ports, terminals, agent and carriers services and pricing policies. Must be knowledgeable with import, export operations’ terminology
  • Experience in import agent file processing, including knowledge of import filing & compliance requirements, preferred.

  • Advanced level Microsoft Excel including formula writing, charts, report writing required.
  • Mid-level Microsoft PowerPoint skill sets to generate slides, required.
  • Mid- level Microsoft access or comparable skills, preferred.
  • Ability to communicate at various levels of understanding from operations to management.
  • Previous experience in position requiring data accuracy and accountability.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and relay in writing or verbally knowledge of procedures to others.
