Wire Desk Specialist

A Wire Desk Specialist role in mortgage lending is a critical operational position that ensures accurate, timely, and compliant processing of wire transfers for loan funding and payoff., The Wire Desk Specialist acts as a quality and financial control point between loan closing, funding, and warehouse banks/investor delivery. They manage wire disbursements, verify documentation, and coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure compliance with company, regulatory, and investor requirements., * Wire Management: Prepare, verify, and release wire transfers for loan funding; follow banking controls and dual verification processes

• Wire Coordination: Communicate with settlement agents, title companies, warehouses, and internal teams
• Exception Resolution: Identify deficiencies or missing items and work with operations to resolve quickly
• Data Entry & System Updates: Maintain records in loan origination systems (e.g., Encompass, Empower), imaging systems, and wire platforms
• Customer Support: Respond to inquiries about incoming/outgoing funds; interact with banks to resolve issues
• Log Maintenance: Maintain wire request logs to prevent duplication and track on-hold wires

Do you have experience in Technical Proficiency?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * Education: High school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred

• Experience: 1-3 years in mortgage post-closing, closing, funding, or secondary marketing; banking or financial services wire experience a plus
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with MS Excel, LOS platforms, imaging systems, and wire portals
• Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with TRID, RESPA, HMDA, and investor guidelines
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, time management, communication, and organizational skills
