Senior Backend Engineer

You will help build the enforcement infrastructure that ensures AI-driven communication is safe and compliant, delivering low-latency, reliable systems used across the organization. You will work as an individual contributor with significant architectural ownership, collaborating closely with engineering peers and product stakeholders. Hybrid (3 days onsite) in the New York City area.

Here’s How You’ll Make an Impact on the Team

Build the layer that connects AI agents and developer frameworks: proxies, SDKs, and agent tooling

Own the policy backend, including connectors, ingest of rule sources and restricted lists, and the engine that tracks rule changes

Build controls that determine what each agent is allowed to do

Design and operate systems to meet low latency and high reliability under enterprise load

Maintain a high bar for security and data protection when handling sensitive content

Do you have experience in Systems engineering?, 5+ years building and running production backends at scale

Strong experience in a modern backend language (Go, Python, Java, or Node)

Solid knowledge of APIs, distributed systems, databases, queues, and caching

Experience with cloud environments, containers, and CI/CD

Focus on latency, reliability, and writing clean code
