Job description

In this role you will lead a team of Software Quality Engineers supporting mission-critical aerospace and defense programs. You will align SQE priorities with program needs, partner with Business Unit leads to define workload and technical expectations, and drive improved SQE engagement and software quality practices across the organization., * Lead, coach, and manage a team of Software Quality Engineers supporting multiple BDS programs; own hiring, performance development, and career progression.

  • Translate program technical and contractual requirements into SQE priorities and deliverables; align SQE execution with program schedules and budgets.
  • Define and implement SQE processes, checklists, and metrics to verify software compliance, reliability, and safety on assigned programs.
  • Provide approval and oversight of technical approaches, software verification strategies, and software quality artifacts.
  • Coordinate supplier SQE activities; provide technical direction and assess supplier deliverables for quality and conformance.
  • Identify and drive continuous process improvements (root-cause analysis, lessons learned, defect reduction).
  • Maintain productive relationships with customers, stakeholders, program managers, and cross-functional teams; escalate and resolve elevated SQE issues.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software quality assurance team management?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course ā€œExploring Leadership.ā€

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience supporting software development programs, including hands-on experience with software verification, reviews, or testing
  • 1+ year of experience supporting software quality engineering with AS9115 and/or DO-178 requirements
  • 1+ year of experience working with program leadership to prioritize and resolve technical quality issues, * Active U.S. security clearance
  • Experience with safety-critical development standards (e.g., DO-178B/C or equivalent).
  • Practical experience with Agile software development and CI/CD pipelines
  • Background in Software Quality Engineering practices (test strategy, test automation, static analysis, code reviews)
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps tooling and secure software development lifecycle (SAST/DAST, automated builds, artifact management)
  • Experience coordinating supplier quality assurance for embedded or avionics software, This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a ā€œU.S. Personā€ as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. ā€œU.S. Personā€ includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee., Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Required, This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
