Job description

Join a leading provider of critical power solutions as a Critical Systems Electrical Technician II, specializing in battery systems for Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems. Based in Dallas, TX, this role offers the opportunity to work on essential infrastructure that supports mission-critical operations for a diverse range of clients. The position involves approximately 50% travel, providing hands-on experience with battery installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting in dynamic environments. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to develop their technical skills in a collaborative and safety-focused team, with exposure to a variety of critical facility systems., * Assist with battery replacements and new installations for UPS systems.

  • Support preventative and scheduled maintenance of battery systems with minimal disruption to customers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site during all phases of work.
  • Follow operational, maintenance, and emergency procedures to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external customers.
  • Utilize hand tools and general maintenance equipment as required.
  • Assist with tasks in other service divisions, such as Switch Gear, Operations, and HVAC, as needed.
  • Work from schematic diagrams, sketches, and verbal instructions to complete assignments.
  • Learn and perform battery disconnection and connection in cabinets and open racks.
  • Participate in building and installing flooded cell battery racks and spill containment systems.
  • Enter pre-installation test readings and collect data for reporting purposes using a laptop computer.
  • Gain experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs on DC battery systems with increasing independence.
  • Assist in warehouse operations as needed.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
  • Travel approximately 50% of the time to customer sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Services Management.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Electrical maintenance?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Basic knowledge of, or willingness to learn, AC/DC theory, electronic components, and circuitry.
  • Ability to safely operate department equipment and use hand tools.
  • Completion of training on digital multimeters, amp clamps, flexible CTs, and battery testing equipment (such as Alber Cellcorder) is a plus.
  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn, proper use of isolation devices, arc-flash suits, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work with series, parallel, and series-parallel battery strings.
  • Familiarity with torque values, torque-mark application, and visual inspection of battery installations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • OSHA 10-hour certification and NFPA-70E Safety Training preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance is preferred.

Offered compensation: $23/yr - $35/yr
