Critical Systems Technician II, Battery

• Support preventative and scheduled maintenance of battery systems with minimal disruption to customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site during all phases of work.
• Follow operational, maintenance, and emergency procedures to ensure safety and compliance.
• Work from schematic diagrams, sketches, and verbal instructions to complete tasks.
• Interact effectively with internal teams and external customers to ensure high-quality service.
• Assist with work in other service divisions, such as Switch Gear, Operations, and HVAC, as needed.
• Participate in warehouse operations when required.
• Learn and apply techniques for disconnecting and connecting sealed batteries, building battery racks, and installing spill containment systems.
• Collect and enter data from preventive maintenance services using company reporting tools.
• Gain experience in troubleshooting, routine, and emergency maintenance of DC battery systems with increasing independence.
• Adhere strictly to facility work rules and safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Travel approximately 30% or more to customer sites as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Services Management.

Do you have experience in Schematics?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High school diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to safely operate department equipment and use hand and general maintenance tools.
• Basic understanding of or willingness to learn AC/DC theory, electronic components, and circuitry.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
• Ability to work from diagrams, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Completion of OSHA 10-hour certification and NFPA-70E Safety Training (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience or willingness to learn the use of digital multimeters, amp clamps, flexible CTs, and battery testing equipment.
• Understanding of proper use of isolation devices and PPE, including Arc-Flash suits.
• Competency or willingness to learn battery string connections (series, parallel, series-parallel) and installation best practices.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Ability to obtain security clearance is preferred.

Offered compensation: $27/yr - $40/yr
