Job description

A Top 10 ENR-ranked General Contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to lead and manage all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEP/F) activities on large-scale Data Center and Mission Critical projects., * Oversee and manage all on-site MEP construction activities from rough-in through commissioning and turnover

  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection trades to ensure seamless integration with architectural and structural work
  • Develop and manage short-term and long-term MEP look-ahead schedules in collaboration with project teams
  • Lead MEP subcontractors, field engineers, and inspection teams to ensure scope, schedule, and quality compliance
  • Enforce strict MEP safety standards, job hazard analysis, and site-specific safety plans
  • Review and coordinate MEP drawings, BIM models, submittals, RFIs, and installations for constructability and accuracy
  • Verify installations meet project specifications, drawings, benchmarks, and code requirements
  • Implement and manage quality control programs, including first-in-place inspections and deficiency tracking
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, startups, commissioning activities, and turnover documentation
  • Track daily progress using reports, photos, and construction management software
  • Manage material procurement, delivery logistics, and equipment installation sequencing
  • Interface directly with owners, commissioning agents, inspectors, and inspectors of record
  • Participate in preconstruction, coordination, and task-specific planning meetings
  • Mentor and develop junior field engineers and assistant superintendents
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and leadership teams to resolve field issues and improve construction efficiency

Requirements

Do you have experience in Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS)?, This role is critical to successful project delivery and requires a strong technical background, hands-on leadership style, and proven experience coordinating complex MEP systems in mission critical environments., * 5-10+ years of construction field experience with an emphasis on MEP systems

  • Required: Data Center and/or Mission Critical MEP experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical distribution, cooling systems, UPS, generators, switchgear, and life-safety systems
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and coordinated BIM models
  • Strong experience with High Complexity projects with a Mechanical or Electrical Background
  • Proven experience managing multiple MEP subcontractors and trade coordination
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience with commissioning processes and phased project turnovers
  • Proficiency with construction management and reporting software
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, high-standards environments

Work Environment

This role requires daily on-site presence in active construction environments, including walking job sites and accessing mechanical and electrical spaces. Some office-based responsibilities will require regular use of a computer and standard communication tools., * Data Center Superintendent: 3 years (Preferred)
