Job description

DAPMap was launched to connect draft animal practitioners with one another, helping to locate mentors, collaborators, and resources across distance. Interest has grown rapidly, but the current version lacks usability, storytelling features, and robust hosting. We are seeking proposals from developers or firms to redesign and upgrade DAPMap into a more reliable, accessible, and engaging platform that can scale with our growing community.

Objectives

  • Redesign the DAPMap interface to improve usability and accessibility
  • Enhance search and filtering functions for location, species, discipline, and expertise
  • Incorporate storytelling elements such as practitioner profiles, photos, and short videos
  • Ensure the platform is mobile-friendly, stable, and secure
  • Develop clear admin tools for staff to update and moderate the map
  • Integrate with DAPNet’s existing website and communications infrastructure
  • Create documentation and provide light training for ongoing use and maintenance

Deliverables

  • Discovery and design plan (user research, wireframes, functionality roadmap)
  • Redesigned, fully functional DAPMap 2.0 platform with expanded features
  • Migration of existing user data to the new system
  • Basic training for DAPNet staff and volunteers on managing and updating the platform
  • Documentation of workflows, troubleshooting, and system architecture

Timeline

We anticipate this project running over a 4-month period beginning in mid-2026. Key milestones include:

  • July 2026: Selection of developer
  • August 2026: Discovery and design phase
  • September 2026: Development and testing
  • October 1 2026: Launch of DAPMap 2.0

Budget

The total budget available for this project is $10,000, inclusive of all design, development, and training costs.
