Job description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead critical application-focused initiatives supporting the relocation and centralization of Laboratory and Pharmacy operations into a new state-of-the-art facility in South San Francisco. This role will focus on Epic application implementation, optimization, workflow redesign, operational readiness, and technology integration-not construction management.

The Project Manager will oversee complex enterprise-wide projects involving Epic Beaker (Laboratory) or Epic Willow (Pharmacy), collaborating with clinical operations, Health IT, executive leadership, vendors, and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery and operational activation.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead large-scale healthcare technology projects from initiation through implementation and go-live.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Establish governance structures, reporting processes, and project communication plans.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively address risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate multiple workstreams to ensure successful project execution.

Epic Application Implementation

  • Lead Epic Beaker or Epic Willow implementation, optimization, and workflow redesign activities.
  • Coordinate application build, testing, validation, training, deployment, and support activities.
  • Partner with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to align Epic solutions with business objectives.
  • Support integration of laboratory systems, pharmacy systems, automation platforms, and supporting technologies.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Collaborate with executive leadership, clinical teams, operational leaders, and external vendors.
  • Facilitate meetings, status updates, decision-making sessions, and steering committee presentations.
  • Manage vendor deliverables, timelines, contracts, and implementation activities.
  • Ensure stakeholder engagement and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Risk & Change Management

  • Identify project risks, barriers, and operational impacts.
  • Develop mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Lead organizational change management and operational readiness efforts.
  • Support workflow transitions, communication strategies, and user adoption initiatives.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Track project budgets, forecasts, expenditures, and resource utilization.
  • Monitor project metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Ensure projects remain on schedule and within approved budgets.

Team Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional project teams consisting of IT, clinical, operational, and vendor resources.
  • Facilitate collaboration among diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Resolve conflicts, competing priorities, and resource constraints.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Vendor relationship management?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * 5-7 years of project management experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of healthcare industry experience.
  • Experience leading large-scale technology implementations.
  • Epic project management experience required.
  • Strong experience managing project schedules, budgets, resources, and risks.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and enterprise initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience., * Experience with Epic Beaker or Epic Willow implementations, upgrades, or optimization projects.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Epic Certification in Clinical, Revenue Cycle, Beaker, Willow, or related applications.
  • Experience with healthcare operations, laboratory workflows, or pharmacy services.
