Job description

The Database Engineering team is seeking a Senior Database Engineer with strong expertise in Oracle database administration to support business-critical, 24x7 production environments. This role is responsible for managing on-premises Oracle databases in a fast-paced operational setting that supports both transactional and analytical workloads. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience in Oracle database administration, automation, performance tuning, troubleshooting, security, and high availability. This individual will also play a key role in evaluating emerging database technologies, improving operational efficiency through scripting and automation, and supporting database tools and platforms across production and non-production environments., Provide end-to-end Oracle DBA support, including provisioning, backup and recovery, replication, deployment, and real-time production troubleshooting. Install, configure, monitor, upgrade, and maintain Oracle databases across production and non-production environments. Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to support production systems as needed. Support database deployments for test and production environments. Diagnose and resolve database performance issues using monitoring tools and tuning techniques. Collaborate with system administrators on Linux, Unix, and virtual machine platform issues related to databases. Develop and maintain automation scripts for database provisioning, maintenance, and reporting. Configure and support high availability and disaster recovery solutions. Support data replication and sharding strategies.

Requirements

Work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision. Basic Requirements 10+ years of experience in database administration. Strong expertise in Oracle database administration in enterprise environments. Extensive experience in database performance tuning and troubleshooting. Deep knowledge of enterprise database best practices for large-scale environments. Strong understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, storage technologies, and data replication. Experience implementing, supporting, and auditing database security controls. Preferred Skills Experience supporting on-premises Oracle environments. Experience migrating Oracle databases from on-premises platforms to AWS RDS. Familiarity with database monitoring tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience working in virtualized environments such as VMware. Proficiency in automation using Shell, Python, and configuration management tools such as Ansible. Database and cloud vendor certifications.
