System Software Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION: Senior eCommerce Technologist tasked with leadership and participation in major software projects to provide eCommerce services to end-user clients. Responsibilities include participation in the selection and integration of projects and the development of solutions to meet the business requirements of the client entities. Analyze, design, and implement eCommerce solutions in support of client needs. Evaluates, compares, and tests marketplace tools & support of client needs. Evaluates, compares, and tests marketplace tools applications that support integrated eCommerce systems. Develop integration strategies among various components of the software, as needed. Develop test plans and perform system testing. Provides active leadership in projects designed to implement eCommerce stores in support of client’s needs. Work with business clients, project teams, vendors and consultants to maintain communication and understanding of project requirements. Mentor the other technical members of the team.

REQUIRED SKILLS: This position requires a strong professional commitment to the success of the customer along with a comprehensive understanding of how to enable that success through software development with an emphasis on Internet development and eCommerce applications usually gained as a result of (6) six or more years of extensive recent experience in systems development in a complex, network intensive operating environment. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience leading and working on teams developing and supporting applications using a variety of technologies including: Java programming language, Unix, HTML, JDBC, servlet API’s, web server administration or Weblogic specific knowledge, working knowledge of CGI, Perl, and relational database systems. Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Proven ability to commit to deadlines and adapt to changing priorities and resources.
