Job description
In this role, you’ll support our clients consumer-facing student loan applications by focusing on hands-on product design and ongoing design system work within Figma. You’ll partner closely with a small application pod, supporting a lead designer by handling smaller features, enhancements, and backlog tickets while ensuring design work is fully vetted before moving into engineering. A significant part of the role involves building on and documenting the existing design system, improving consistency, usability, and scalability across digital experiences. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to ensure designs are user-centered, well-documented, and development-ready.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in UX, UI, or digital product design supporting web and/or mobile applications
Strong hands-on experience in Figma, including component libraries and design systems
Proven ability to translate product requirements into wireframes, flows, and high-fidelity designs
Experience working closely with engineering teams, delivering design work prior to development
Strong communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional product teams Experience supporting or contributing to design system development and documentation
Background in financial services, fintech, or education technology
Familiarity with agile product teams and managing work through design backlogs
Experience optimizing existing products rather than only greenfield design
