Job description
The Warehouse Technician supports efficient warehouse operations by safely handling inbound and outbound materials, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This role works in a warehouse environment that involves working at heights over 6 feet and requires strong attention to safety, organization, and detail.
Responsibilities

Use material handling equipment to load and unload inbound and outbound shipments, including trucks and small parcel carriers such as UPS, Federal Express, Airborne, and DHL.

Safely operate forklifts and other assigned material handling equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety guidelines.

Inspect all assigned equipment before use to ensure it is in safe operating condition and immediately report any defects, accidents, or unsafe conditions to a supervisor.

Stock and arrange products in warehouse racks and designated locations to support efficient inventory turns and easy accessibility.

Perform cycle counts to determine accurate material quantities and help maintain precise inventory levels.

Receive material into inventory, verify part numbers and quantities, and enter accurate data into electronic systems for receipts, inventories, and locations.

Move material between designated locations and accurately locate and pick material to and from warehouse locations as required.

Resolve discrepancies related to material quantities, part numbers, and location data by investigating and correcting records as needed.

Place and secure pallets so they remain stable, ensuring pallet heights are safe and that material, racking, and equipment are not damaged.

Keep aisles clear by ensuring material is stored properly and not left in walkways or work areas.

Practice safe material handling techniques at all times, following established safety policies and procedures.

Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned to maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.

Work overtime and weekends as needed to support business demands, recognizing that this is a safety-sensitive position requiring consistent focus and adherence to safety standards., This position is based in a warehouse environment with regular use of forklifts and other material handling equipment. Typical hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the possibility of overtime and weekend work depending on operational needs. The role involves working at heights over 6 feet, handling pallets and racked inventory, and moving materials between various locations within the facility. You work around active shipping and receiving areas, including truck bays and parcel carrier drop-off points. The environment emphasizes safety, housekeeping, and clear aisles, with expectations that equipment is inspected before use and that work areas remain orderly and free of hazards.
Requirements

Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

Experience working with inventory in a warehouse or similar environment.

Ability to accurately receive, stock, locate, and pick materials using warehouse racking systems.

Strong attention to detail for verifying part numbers, quantities, and data entries in electronic inventory systems.

Capability to perform cycle counts and support accurate inventory control.

Commitment to safety, including proper use of equipment, adherence to safe material handling practices, and reporting of unsafe conditions.

Willingness and ability to work at heights over 6 feet as required for warehouse operations.

Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when business needs require.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Forklift qualification or certification, or the ability to obtain one in accordance with company requirements.

Experience handling inbound and outbound shipments with common carriers and parcel services.

Familiarity with electronic inventory and warehouse management systems.

Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area through regular housekeeping activities.
