About the company

Created by AutoStore, Pio brings advanced cube storage technology to small and mid-sized companies, helping them handle more orders, use space smarter, and compete at a whole new level. As we continue to scale, we are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our team and build the systems that connect software, robotics, and real-world warehouse operations.

At Pio, you will work in a tight knit team where your voice matters and your code ships fast. You will have the freedom to explore, experiment, and make a real impact while building fast, reliable, and scalable systems powering warehouses across the globe, from Oslo to Paris, Tokyo to Los Angeles.

At the same time, Pio is a playground for what comes next. As part of the AutoStore ecosystem, you will help explore and shape the future of automation, including robotic arms, residential storage, vertical farming, and new retail experiences., At Pio, you will design and build APIs and backend systems that connect software and robotics, ensuring what we build is reliable and ready to scale.

You will be part of a team where ideas move quickly from discussion to production, and where engineers are trusted to take ownership. We value focus and quality, but also enjoy celebrating progress together.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Build and improve backend systems and APIs in the Pio platform
  • Design reliable, scalable solutions that connect software, robotics, and external systems
  • Contribute to new features, system performance enhancements, monitoring, insights, and reporting
  • Write high-quality, well-tested code and deploy frequently
  • Work closely with product and engineering to solve real customer needs
  • Help shape architecture, engineering practices, and how we work as a team

You’ll thrive here if you

  • Enjoy building backend systems that are reliable, practical, and easy to evolve
  • Are comfortable making technical tradeoffs and taking ownership of solutions
  • Like working in a collaborative team where people support each other, share knowledge, and enjoy building together
  • Want to have a real impact on both the product and the way things are built
  • Are motivated by solving real-world problems, not just abstract systems, “At Pio, you work in a close-knit team solving real-world problems. It’s not just software on a screen, but systems that interact with physical hardware, which makes things way more interesting”.
