Point Cloud Data Analyst

At Piper, we’re searching for a passionate, detail-oriented individuals to join our team in San Diego, CA., We are searching for Point Cloud Data Analysts who will work with team to analyze a series of lidar scans that, when aligned correctly create a map of a portion of a railway. Automated tools align the scans, but there are often inconsistencies. Your work will consist of verifying the output of the automated tools and, if necessary, manually adjusting individual scans until they overlap seamlessly. No engineering background is required for this position. The most important skills for this role are patience and a keen eye for detail., * Very detail oriented

• Strong, systematic approach to work
• Ability to pick up software tools quickly

• Can focus on detailed, repetitive work for long periods of time Nice to have:

• Proven ability to meet output targets without sacrificing accuracy
• Experience in a role that required sustained precision - quality control, editing, technical illustration, or similar
• Background working with spatial data or 3D software (hobby level included)

$25 an hour - Seasonal, You will get to enjoy a reliable schedule, working Monday - Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm. We are offering a pay range of $25.00 per hour for this position. This is an immediate start and will go through the summer until September 4, 2026.
