Job description
The Systems and Process Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the functionality, performance, and continuous improvement of a custom database system that supports critical organizational operations. This role serves as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, software developers, and external partners to ensure system capabilities align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational needs.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of project management, systems administration, database oversight, and process improvement experience, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective system solutions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the functionality, integration, and performance testing of a custom database system, ensuring it effectively supports programmatic and operational requirements.
- Maintain and prioritize a database enhancement roadmap, including system modifications, upgrades, and user-requested improvements.
- Conduct periodic system audits to ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and data governance standards.
- Monitor system performance, identify areas for optimization, and recommend solutions to improve efficiency, reliability, and user experience.
- Track system functionality and investigate user-reported issues, coordinating resolution efforts with software developers and technical teams.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal departments, software engineers, vendors, and external agencies to ensure database capabilities support organizational goals.
- Gather and document business requirements, translating operational needs into technical specifications and enhancement requests.
- Manage database information-sharing processes, including the review and coordination of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and other data disclosure requirements.
- Oversee database imports, data validation activities, and quality assurance processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Develop, track, and report on database metrics, system utilization, and performance indicators to support informed decision-making.
- Lead and support system-related projects, including planning, testing, implementation, and user adoption efforts.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Vendor communication?, Do you have a Master’s degree?, * Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in database management, systems administration, business systems management, or IT project management.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience conducting functional, integration, user acceptance, and/or performance testing of database systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Certification in Data Privacy, Information Security, Project Management, or a related discipline highly desirable.
