Job description

  • Collaborate on sourcing, prototype development, and creation of test plans
  • Lead cross-functional design teams to meet critical project milestones on time

Engineering Documentation & Process Support

  • Create detailed engineering test reports and manufacturing assembly procedures
  • Lead FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) events to identify and prevent potential design issues
  • Represent the organization in technical standards committees (e.g., IEEE high-voltage switch subcommittees)

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Design Engineer to take ownership of the full product design lifecycle for high-voltage switching equipment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about delivering technically sound solutions for the evolving electrical grid while leading cross-functional project teams from concept to production. You will contribute directly to engineering breakthroughs and long-standing utility partnerships by designing and testing reliable, durable substation components., * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university

  • Minimum 5 years of product design experience, preferably in substation equipment or high-voltage systems
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including sand casting, permanent mold casting, machining, and welding
  • Proficient in SolidWorks 3D CAD and SolidWorks Simulation for Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Demonstrated success in bringing new products to market

Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Certification in FMEA or Reliability Engineering
  • SolidWorks Professional Certification
